Aunt Katie’s – Pensacola, Florida

If you’re looking for a classic, Southern-style breakfast spot in Pensacola, Aunt Katie’s is definitely one to put on your list. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and relaxed. The staff was friendly and attentive, creating that hometown diner vibe that makes you feel comfortable settling in for a hearty meal.

I decided to go with Jimi’s Pork Chop Breakfast, which comes with two pork chops (I had mine fried), scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, and a side of cheese grits. I also added a side of fried shrimp and a Belgian-style waffle because the menu had so many tempting options, it was hard to choose just one plate.

Let’s start with the pork chops. They were cooked well with a good fry on the outside, though for my personal taste, they had a little too much pepper. Not bad, just slightly heavy on seasoning. The scrambled eggs were fluffy, and the potatoes were solid diner-style breakfast potatoes. The cheese grits were creamy and paired well with the rest of the plate.

The fried shrimp were a highlight—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned just right. The Belgian waffle was fluffy with a good texture and made for a sweet balance to the savory items.

One drawback was that it took a little while for our drinks to arrive. However, once ordered, the food itself came out in a reasonable time, and the service remained friendly throughout.

Another plus is their large menu—there’s plenty to explore on future visits. They also offer a military discount, which is always appreciated, along with daily deals like buy one entrée, get one half off on Tuesdays.

Overall, I’d rate Aunt Katie’s a 7.2 out of 10. It’s a solid breakfast option in Pensacola with generous portions, friendly service, and enough variety to keep you coming back to try something new.
